Christopher Wright

Christopher Wright has been the law clerk for the Gene C. Colman Family Law Centre since December 2008.  After graduating from the University of Guelph with a degree in Canadian Studies, Chris spent over 10 years working as a senior content editor for a major Canadian legal publisher.  He was responsible for editing and supervising the production of books, newsletters, websites and CD-ROMs, on a wide variety of legal topics. In 2007 Chris decided to expand his horizons and enrolled in the Law Clerk program at Humber College.  He earned his diploma in 2008, and is a member of the Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario.  Chris also earned a Continuing Education Certificate in Information Design from the University of Toronto in 2002.


As a law clerk, Chris’ duties include contacting clients and keeping them up to date on the progress of their case; assisting clients to find, prepare and disclose documents as part of their financial disclosure obligations in family law cases; conducting client and witness interviews; assisting with the preparation of pleadings; and conducting legal research.  He is also responsible for a variety of office clerical duties, and is usually the first voice you will hear on the phone when calling the Gene C. Colman Family Law Centre.

Chris has been married to his beautiful wife Roxanne since August 2007, and they celebrated the birth of their first son Theodore in August 2009.

 

Efua Cobbina

Efua Cobbina is the junior associate lawyer with the Gene C. Colman Family Law Centre.  Efua obtained her Bachelor’s of common and civil law from McGill University’s Faculty of Law and was called to the Ontario Bar in June 2009.  She articled with the prominent Canadian law firm of Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP prior to joining this law practice.   

Throughout law school, Efua volunteered with both McGill University and Concordia University’s Legal Information Clinics where she gained litigation experience and exposure to family law. She is a dedicated advocate with a genuine passion to make a real difference in people’s lives.

In addition to her legal experience, Efua possesses a strong business background. She is a graduate of Concordia University’s John Molson School of Business Co-op program where she majored in finance and graduated with distinction. Her professional experiences include positions as a financial analyst, an investment accountant and a legal analyst with a multi-national insurance broker.

She is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Ontario Bar Association and the Canadian Association of Black Lawyers.
