PRACTICE TIPS FOR COURTHOUSES THROUGHOUT ONTARIO

Gene C. Colman Introduction: The following articles are a must read for all lawyers and self reps who need to file or defend both “short” motions and “long motions” in Ontario. You will simply not find anywhere else these essential practice tips that you in practice actually need to prepare for and conduct a motion. One would think that the Family Law Rules and the various published Practice Directions would tell it all. But far from it! Different court offices have their own particular idiosyncrasies and quirks. Kudos to authors, Jessica Grys, Jonathan Robinson, Faria Marlatt and Jerrod Patterson as well as the Ontario Family Law Reporter for publishing these articles. With OFLR’s kind permission, we are making the articles available here at the Colman web site.
